How Individuals & Families Can Help GIHN

Prayer

BecauseGuilford Interfaith Hospitality Network is a community of faith, we believe in the power of prayer. Please pray for the children, parents, and grandparents of our guest families, and pray for GIHN's volunteers, staff, and leadership.

Advocate

You can advocate for Guilford Interfaith Hospitality Network to your civic club or church, that they should support GIHN through their outreach and service committees as well as their benevolent funds and foundations. Invite us to speak to your club.We have a 15-minute video, and we can make shorter presentations.

If you know someone in the local philanthropic community, please tell them about GIHN. If possible, introduce us to them. We believe GIHN's story is compelling, but need your help to tell it aboard.

We would also love to make a presentation to your churh's Sunday classes, outreach committee, or to the whole church at a Sunday or mid-week service. Fear not, pastor! We honor and respect your pulpit and rightly divide the Word of Truth!

Volunteer

There are short-term and ongoing volunteer opportunities. You and your family can arrange an outing for the children one day. Saturdays and during school breaks are great times for an adventure.If you like little babies, let us know. We'll call you when we have a little one so you can give its mom a needed break and so you can play peek-a-boo! Do you long for those days of reading to your kids? You can still give the gift of reading. Call us.

Maybe you're more of the handyman-type. GIHN has quite a few surfaces than need a fresh coat of paint. In fact, we have whole rooms that need adopting. Click the Before and After icon to right to see what one or two can do to change circumstances.

Events

Throughout the year the GIHN Network organizes events which are fun and inspiring as well as beneficial to GIHN. Each November we host our annual banquet celebrating the successes of our guest families. In the spring we host a Golf Marathon and Benefit Concert. This past year the High Point Rotary held an ACC Basketball Tournament Day for GIHN. There's almost always something going on in an attempt to knit the Network closer and to provide funding to help GIHN eliminate family homelessness. Giving

Over 40% of GIHN's funds come from individuals and families either through participating in events or from direct contributions.Some give through designed funds at their church, and some give through payroll deduction at work. Most either mail a check or use their debit/credit card on our secure server.
