Volunteer Projects
Before & After

The before pictures didn't look all that bad to us, but Girl Scout Liz Wallace saw something different, something better! As her Gold Project, Liz “adopted” a small conference room in our Greensboro Day Center and turned it into a first-class business center for our guest families.

Great thanks to Liz and her team! Our families are encouraged as they search for work and make arrangements for more permanet housing. The room is so lovely, I sometimes go into it just to have my spirits raised!!

Everything you see from the paint, draps, pictures, desks, lamps, chairs, accessories, and computers & printers were the fruit of Liz's labors and that of her team of volunteers. Liz, remind of their names (Liz & Mom on the right!).
Our
old refrigerator looked
very much like the one
pictured on the left.
You can't tell from a
photo, but our old refrigerator
just stopped working.
So,
a call went out to the
Network. Actually, it
was an email that went
out and made its way
to Ron Sydell, who just
happened to have a perfectly
good refrigerator waiting
for our call . . . or
email.
Thanks,
Ron!! I hooked up the
water supply and, presto!
cubed ice, crushed ice,
and cold water.
It's
the nicest refrigerator
any of us has ever had!!
